thought I just introduce myself before posting. I am a dressage rider in the southeast and currently inbetween horses and barns. I've been showing my paint cross gelding Mingo in 2nd level but unfortunally due to his athritis I am forced to sell him. I am inbetween barns due to it's closing if I could I would be at that barn for forever. My other discipline besides dressage is the western discipline of cutting.
Look foward to chatting with y'all

For Sale -
5A Baker Seat Covers for front bucket seats of a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
I just bought a new Jeep, and the seats are different so these don't fit anymore :(
They are in excellent condition. The seat parts are slightly discolored from sun exposure, but other than that, they are perfect. No rips, tears and the elastic is still in great shape.
The seat back cover has an opening in the back for the pocket that's on the back of the front seat and it also has an opening on the side for the power seat controls.
Please check out the ( PICSCollapse )

i'm starting to teach my Beau the piaffe` in-hand. any suugestions? pointers?
i also need to know how the heck i can get him to outline properly at canter....at trot he has this beautiful outline and moves really well, then in canter he puts his head up like a novice horse and canters weird (especially counter canter, which appears to be all he can do at the moment, he's so stiff!) so yes, any help will be appreciated. Yeh, I'm horrid, and I thought this community had died, but I'll keep it alive if I have to.
So...had a crappy ride yesterday. My trainer asked me to do counter canter for the first time going across the diagonal, and I couldn't do it at ALL. Every time I took Glock into the far corner he broke and changed leads no matter how much I kept him bent to the outside and used my outside leg!!! *GROWLS*
So eventually my trainer just gave up on me because she could see that I couldn't do it. I was near exhaustion anyways, because we had been riding hard for an hour in REALLY HOT weather. *curses*
Anybody have any suggestions...? Anything?
Remember...comments are LOVE.

well, first of all...I GOT MY L'S!!! HOORAH!!!
now for the actual update, which is less exciting than that (honesty...from me? gah!)
well, i had beau all perfect for pony club, all worked and well groomed and his neck and loin muscles were lookin really good. first i had a lungeing class in the zamia arena with trish, she was my nurse in the hospital when i broke my collar bone. all the other five people in my class were away, so it was me, jess potter and andrew mata. we started out wit beau, and he did not like the whip, he snapped lizzie's lungeing cavesson and took off into a beginner (d grade) lesson. the instructor from the the D class fetched him and i just took him back to the stalls and tacked him up for my dressage/flat class. flat work was interesting, andrew's horse pulled up lame so he just watched, all the other classes in the big arena had about 8-12 people in them and we had just 2! it was cool, one on one attention. we were working on our leg yeilding and pirouettes and then beau had a buck and a huge rear, but i stayed on, then we were cantering with out stirrups and he reared again, so naturally i fell on my ASS. and this was in the middle of the big arena near the club hourse, so naturally all the parents and the president saw it. my back still hurts but the rest of the class was good.
at lunch we all went and sat near the jumps and watched a demonstration, this guy, Ramon from el cabello was riding this beautiful thoroughbred, off the track for 3 and a half years and doing grand prix dressge. it was the best, he travered and went straight into walk from canter, he did a half-pass at the canter and a 20m reinback at the trot. then ramon was all like, "he's never done canter pirouettes before, so lets try it." my god, it was the best thing ive ever seen,it looked like he's been doing canter p's his whole life. the pirouettes at canter are the hardest form of collection, one of the hardest moves in dressage. then he just trotted him along at the buckle of his reins and the horse just held the outline, this was really an advanced horse. so now i have to go see ramon train the andalusians in perth. best rider ive ever seen, hands down, he have vicki hamilton the boot from my list of favourite riders!
its one thing to read about dressage at the advanced level, and to see it at the olympics on TV, but to see it live by just an everyday trainer like Ramon, i wouldnt swap this experience for anything in the world. its one thing to have an advanced horse, but its another thing to ride it, ive learnt that with beau, he can do collection and yeilding and all the fancy stuff (even though his back says otherwise) its just, you have to have enough skill to make him do it. i hope i am.
and in showjumping beau was alright, we only got up to two foot but jess and i were having fun, jess did some 80cm jumps to practice for a three day event next week, and our lecture was alright, except i got stuck with the b grade juniors. stoopid juniors and their stoopidness.
beau is getting clipped today, a trace clip so just his belly and face. and were going in a horse show at darlington on july 5th, doing the walk/trot horse, the open hack, open hunterhack, the rider class, the best presented, best bred, best behaved and champion hack, and im taking Misty the little pony to do the 80cm jumping. so hopefully ill get a ribbon or a trophy at the end of the day.
and we might be moving beau, sad but true, and shirley, matt and "blue" might be coming to this cool place about 2mins from lizzie's with a huge jumping arena with real american jump poles (screw not being bale to buy them in Aus!) and dressage markers and a big undercover flood lit arena with mirrors. and a real barn and a huge paddock, for $65 a week full board! its perfect! so hopefully ill move him. Hey, has anybody ever tried that weird footing stuff that you can buy? It's not gravel, it's plastic or something and it doesn't turn to mud or dust. I just wanted to know what it was like, I'm kinda curious cuz I saw an ad for it.

hey, I'm Susie, I've been riding Dressage since...um, four years ago maybe? Probably something like that.
I ride an Arabian mare named Saga. She's sooo cute...but she never was taught to do Dressage so she's pretty bad at some of the movements. I admit that I'm not that good yet, I can really only really do the basics, a few things that are fun though, like extended canter and walk to canter transitions. XD
This has nothing to do w/training, but Saga is a dapple gray and EVERY SUMMER, every single summer, she gets rainrot no matter how clean we keep her stall or how many times we wash her legs with the weird fungus removing soap. It's quite annyoing, needless to say. Anybody know how to help?
Oh, and I am obsessed with anime. That's all I guess...
